Drumore Estate is located outside Lancaster, PA. Secluded and pristine, yet it is only a short drive from Lancaster City and is centrally located among Harrisburg, Hershey, and York. It is within a 3-hour drive to New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. The property sits on one of the highest points in the county, with unmatched views stretching across the Susquehanna River Valley. The grounds cover 70 acres encompassing manicured lawns, formal gardens, woodlands, fountains, and pools.
The mansion on the estate was built for John F. Steinman, a Lancaster newspaper magnate, in 1937 by noted architect Robert Rodes McGoodwin. The 18,000-square-foot home was modeled after the opulent design and smooth symmetry of Georgian architecture often found in 18th Century Britain. Every detail of the mansion was remarkably attended to, down to the patented wrought-iron detailing on the exterior, which has inspired our Drumore Estate logo. The country estate was designed with entertaining in mind with its open spaces, quaint alcoves, grand staircase, dazzling chandeliers, and warm ambiance—making it an ideal location for your wedding.

Climate Controlled Event Venue
Photographers love Drumore Estate. The bucolic vistas, formal estate garden, tree-lined drive, stone walls, fountains, historical architecture, wrought iron gates, and incredible sunsets create a stunning backdrop for photographers and videographers to capture your special day forever.
Drumore Estate has been operating as a wedding and event venue since 2005. Offering climate-controlled indoor options and a Grand Tent, Drumore Estate offers versatile venue options. Couples can choose from our Carriage House or The Ballroom year-round. Our Grand Tent is generally available from mid-April through mid-November, weather dependent. Wedding & Event Amenities
There are numerous amenities to provide comfort for your family and special guests. Drumore Estate has a paved, well-lit parking lot, brick pathways around the entire property, shaded seating for outside ceremonies, and climate-controlled indoor options. Large, well-appointed dressing suites are available for the wedding party all day. There are plenty of guest restrooms available, including ADA equipped.
When you choose Drumore Estate for your wedding or event, you get exclusive use of the property for twelve (12) hours during prime season (mid-April through mid-November). In the off-season, the property is yours for ten (10) hours. We offer wedding packages for 4 to 6 hours receptions which begin after the ceremony. A beautiful Bridal Suite and comfortable Groom’s Lounge are provided to prepare for the ceremony. The bridal suite has plenty of space, large mirrors, and ensuites that make it suitable for large wedding parties. There is also access to a balcony so brides can view the grounds and watch guests as they arrive for the ceremony. The groom can gather with his groomsmen to prepare for his “I do” in our expansive, fully-furnished lounge with antique barber chairs, a fireplace, TV, and a large ensuite. It’s such a big part of what makes up the charm of a Philadelphia wedding! Drumore Estate also has a history all its own. Local newspaper magnate & philanthropist named John F. Steinman founded Drumore in 1938. Steinman was looking to build a peaceful countryside retreat in Lancaster County. He chose the land in the southern end of Lancaster. Situated on the second highest peak in the county with a view of his newspaper building located downtown. Steinman also planned the property with entertaining in the forefront of his mind. I guess you could say that Drumore Estate was always destined to become the modern wedding venue as we know it today! Matured, towering Sycamores were transplanted to line the driveway of the estate there in 1939."

The entrance to this stunning wedding venue sets the tone for hosting a refined, elegant garden wedding! Many couples choose Drumore Estate to host their wedding day because of the stunning formal gardens which overlook the Susquehanna river valley. The formal gardens at Drumore have everything from stone walkways to nestled fountains. The outdoor garden area can be used to host your ceremony or your reception. If you are picturing this space for your wedding ceremony, Drumore has a breathtaking aisle. Their brides typically come down the stairway from inside the mansion and then make their entrance through to the formal gardens. How often do you come across a wedding venue that can host a garden wedding with such class?! Drumore also gives you the flexibility to host a ceremony outside with a reception indoors! I bet by now you’re dreaming of a romantic outdoor garden wedding! But what about rain on your wedding day? In the event of an unexpected downfall on your wedding day, Drumore has a ‘what if’ clause. They will move your ceremony to the Grand Tent, the Carriage House, or the Orangery.
Juliana Continued: They have a built-in ‘what if’ clause for all weather conditions! Drumore will also provide you with your own personal event facilitator. The event facilitators at Drumore will help you plan, design, and live out the wedding day of your dreams! Drumore takes the same approach to the wedding planning process that I provide to my clients through their wedding day photography. They pride themselves on guidance and personalized dedication to each and every one of their couples! You can easily see this in the way that Drumore hosts your wedding day. When you choose Drumore Estate for your wedding venue, they provide you with exclusive use of their grounds! You won’t have to worry about another wedding or event taking place on your special day because you will receive an all-access pass to Drumore Estate for up to 12 hours on your wedding day. With their wedding package, they also add 2 hours on their grounds for your engagement pictures, and a complimentary 1-hour rehearsal. It doesn’t get much more exclusive than that!”
Event Bar Service
Drumore Estate does not have a liquor license. Simply put, we can serve alcohol but not sell it. Clients must provide their own alcohol as desired. Due to insurance, we must serve any alcohol, so we provide RAMP-certified bartenders for your event. Drumore Estate also provides mixers, ice, condiments, and glassware. For your convenience, we work with licensed vendors who can provide the alcohol for your event if you choose. They will drop off the liquor the day of the event, pick up what remains, and charge you for what was used.

Drumore Estate strives to create a memorable and stress-free day for you and your guests by being a “one-stop shop.” Everything you really need for your special day is included in our packages – an Event Planner/Facilitator, Event Manager, tables, chairs, linens, china, and more. The best part? We do all your set-up and tear-down to make your day stress-free. If you want to “knock the socks” off your wedding guests, we offer a variety of customized lighting and decor options for your convenience.
The Drumore Experience provides professional, full-service custom catering on-site. You can choose from our extensive menu or let our Chef create the perfect custom menu for your wedding, suited to your theme, palate, and budget. Dinners can be served buffet style or plated (less than 300 guests). An experienced and courteous staff serves you and your guests throughout the evening.
We are sensitive to lifestyle, diet, and food allergies. We offer specialty meal options for dietary restrictions. Please note that prices may increase due to specialty ingredients.
Tastings are not included. However, we offer two group tastings with set menus annually for couples who wish to attend. These tastings are held sometime in January or February, with dates announced a few months beforehand. Private tastings may be scheduled for Monday evenings only.
