It seems like a no brainer; wedding professionals know what they’re doing, you hire them right? Well, what if Uncle Bob has a ‘nice camera’? Or, what if your cousin has ‘been to a million weddings’ and can plan it for you, no problem? And what if your budget, just can’t account for the all of the vendors you want to hire? Today, I’m sharing my thoughts on why you should hire a wedding professional for your wedding day, as well as how you can make it all work within your budget.

Why Hire a Wedding Professional?

I’d like to start out by saying that I’m not just talking about wedding photographers in this post! I think it’s safe to say, we’ve all heard those horror stories. I want to talk more broadly about wedding professionals, and what they have to offer you throughout the entire wedding process. I’m going to share 4 reasons why you should hire a wedding professional before we get into how this all works with your budget.

1. They’re professional

When hiring a professional, that’s what you get! Yes, you’ll want to do your research, read reviews and find the one that suits you best. But in the end, this is what they do, they are going to be professional about it. There will be contracts to sign, payment agreements and meetings. All of this to ensure that you are getting exactly what you want for your wedding day. They will have the know how, and the knowledge to tell you what is realistic for your theme, season, or budget. They will help you dream, plan and execute the wedding you envision.

2. You are their priority

You get top priority. Any personal distractions are taken out of the equation because you’ve hired them to do the best at their job. And you won’t get dropped if something better comes along. They want your day to be perfect, just as much as you do, perhaps more. They want you to share their exceptional work with everyone you know, so they are highly motivated to give you their best work.

3. Their feelings don’t get hurt

There’s no way around it, wedding planning can cause stress. And, in my opinion, the last thing you want to do at such a happy time in life, is cause strain on relationships. When you have a dream, of what you want your wedding to look like, there’s a lot of expectations that come with that. Expectations can be misinterpreted, missed completely or just plain unrealistic. I say, let friends and family be just that – your support network and the people that get to enjoy this season of life with you. Let the professionals be the ones who take care of the details.

4. They have a backup plan

When you hire a wedding professional, they know what to expect and they have already planned for the surprises. Weather, lighting, time delays, they’re ready for it! And you can bet that a professional, won’t even let on that there’s been a hiccup.

This is where your priorities come into play. You will need to decide what your wedding budget is, where you want to spend money, and where you want to cut costs. Once you have created your personalized budget, you can source the right professionals for your wedding. It really is that easy!
