There are many reasons to consider a winter wedding at Drumore Estate. A crackling fireplace, hot drinks, twinkly lights, and comfort food can make wintertime delightfully cozy for you and your guests. Snow on your wedding day is considered a sign of fertility and prosperity to come! A dusting of snow on your big day can make your wedding look like a scene out of a wintery fairytale – perfect for stunning, snowy photographs. Winter weddings are not the same thing as Christmas weddings. There is a wide range of winter-themed ideas, from casual rustic to an elegant, sparkling wonderland, with many beautiful seasonal color palettes to choose from.
Most locations and vendors book up quickly during the summer months and come with a hefty price tag, whereas those locations and vendors are available for a lower price during the colder months. Winter months are often considered off-season, which is important when budgeting is a factor. Drumore Estate’s off-season venue rates are about half of prime-season rates. Travel and hotel stays are at peak pricing in the summer when school is out and families take their vacation, so a winter wedding allows guests to take advantage of off-season pricing for their travel and accommodation options.
Because the winter months aren’t as busy as other months for vendors, there will be more dates to choose from, and vendors can focus more on your big day. Guests may also be more available to attend your event.

Drumore Estate offers two versatile indoor options for winter weddings. First, The Ballroom accommodates up to 150 chairs for guests for a ceremony or up to 80 dinner guests for smaller, intimate receptions. It is adjacent to a sunroom that houses a bar wrapped in carvings depicting winemaking and a wood-burning fireplace. The Carriage House is our second indoor venue with a maximum capacity of 150 for a dinner reception and dance floor. This space also has a built-in bar and fireplace.
The Carriage House has optional rentals for special lighting and audio packages to create just the right ambiance for your party. Both The Ballroom and the Carriage House are next to large, well-lit patios where guests can spill for a breath of fresh air around a firepit. S’mores anyone? Drumore Estate has patio heaters, a firepit, and games available. Weather permitting, the gardens and patios are open for ceremonies. For the ultimate reception, impress your guests by using both spaces – The Ballroom for the ceremony and the Carriage House for dinner and dancing.
The property is exclusively yours for 10 hours. Well-appointed dressing suites are available to the wedding party to prepare for the nuptials. There is plenty of time for pre-ceremony pictures. The reception party begins after the ceremony, and you have the options of a four(4), five (5) or six (6) hour party.
A review from our December 2022 Bride mother: “Drumore Estate couldn’t have delivered more incredibly for my daughter’s wedding day. From the elegance of the Orangery to the beautifully decorated Carriage House, it was a day that no one will ever be able to forget…” -Shaynee.
Besides being an uncommonly beautiful venue, Drumore Estate offers stress-free wedding planning, day-of-event setup, and tear-down. All weddings include an Event Planner/Facilitator and Event Manager. Your Event Planner/Facilitator will be with you from the first planning session through the event and will help pack up your props for you to take home that evening or the next day. They will help you will your scheduling, timeline, menu, layout, and vendor selection. The Event Manager’s work begins the morning of your event to oversee every detail of the setup. They are there throughout the event to ensure everything runs smoothly and on time so that you, your family, and your guests can enjoy without worry.
Drumore Estate sits on one of the highest points in the county, so we are known for our sunsets. While winter sunsets are earlier in the day, they still exist, and your facilitator can plan your timeline so you don’t miss sunset pictures if that’s your desire. As the sun sets on your wedding day in the late afternoon, you can make the most of the darkness by lighting candles and switching on fairy lights, giving your wedding reception a magical feel that’s only possible over the winter months! Winter weddings lend themselves perfectly lavish wedding themes, so go ahead and order sequin table clothes and sparkling candle holders for an elegant look. Fireplace mantels, with a crackling fire below, can become a wonderful focal point!
We have in-house catering at Drumore Estate. Our menus are full of wonderful dishes, but our Chef will be happy to create a customized menu for your special day. How about a hearty, roasted meal? No matter the menu or month you choose for your wedding date, our experienced and talented Drumore Staff will create a lovely event perfectly tailored to your vision.
