Drumore Estate is a versatile and uncommonly beautiful venue offering both indoor and outdoor options. Boasting an 18,000 square foot historic Georgian mansion built in 1937/8 by John Frederick Steinman as his primary residence, he surrounded the mansion with manicured lawns, formal gardens, fountains, and spacious patios perfect for entertaining dignitaries, including the Eisenhowers and the Kennedys. Mature trees were transplanted on the property in 1939, and the towering sycamores lining the driveway are a hallmark of the estate today.

A 4,600 square-foot Grand Tent (400-person capacity) and Carriage House have been added to the grounds. With beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, Drumore Estate is an incredibly versatile venue where you can create your vision with just the right vibe to make your dream wedding come true.

Wedding Venue Features

Our Lancaster County wedding venue is secluded and pristine, yet it is only a short drive from Lancaster City and is centrally located among Harrisburg, Hershey, and York.  It is within a 3-hour drive to New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.  The property sits on one of the highest points in the county, with unmatched views stretching across the Susquehanna River Valley.

Bucolic vistas, estate gardens, a tree-lined drive, historical architecture, wrought iron gates, and incredible sunsets create the stunning backdrop for photographers and videographers to capture your special day forever.

There are numerous amenities to provide comfort for your family and special guests. Drumore Estate has a paved, well-lit parking lot, brick pathways around the entire property, shaded seating for outside ceremonies, and climate-controlled indoor options. Large, well-appointed dressing suites are available to the wedding party all day. There are plenty of guest restrooms available, including ADA equipped.

Drumore Estate’s Grand Tent holds up to 400 guests. There are also two climate-controlled venues. The  Carriage House and Ballroom, which seats 150 and 80, respectively.  These spaces can be used for smaller events or provide optional uses like dancing, ceremony, or cocktail hours. They also provide great contingency backup.

Event Planners / Facilitators for Your Convenience

Drumore Estate strives to create a memorable and stress-free day for you and your guests by being a “one-stop shop.” Everything you really need for your special day is included in our packages – an Event Planner/Facilitator, Event Manager, tables, chairs, linens, china, and more. The best part? We do all your set-up and tear-down to make your day stress-free. If you want to “knock the socks” off your wedding guests, we offer a variety of customized lighting and decor options for your convenience.

The Drumore Experience provides professional, full-service custom catering on-site. You can choose from our extensive menu or let our Chef create the perfect custom menu for your wedding, suited to your theme, palate, and budget. Dinners can be served buffet style or plated (less than 300 guests). An experienced and courteous staff serves you and your guests throughout the evening. 

We are sensitive to lifestyle, diet, and food allergies. We offer specialty meal options for dietary restrictions. Please note that prices may increase due to specialty ingredients. 

Tastings are not included. However, we offer two group tastings with set menus annually for couples who wish to attend. These tastings are held sometime in January or February, with dates announced a few months beforehand. Private tastings may be scheduled for Monday evenings only. 

Catering

The Drumore Estate Experience offers professional, full-service, custom catering on-site. Our Event Facilitator works with you to design the perfect menu for your gathering. We include an experienced and courteous serving staff, china, glassware, flatware, tables, and chairs, not to mention set up and tear down.

Let us create the perfect menu for your event, suited to your theme, palate, and budget. We offer a flexible array of menu and catering options that include buffets, stations, sit-down dinners, & cocktail receptions. Dinners can be served buffet style or plated (less than 300 guests).

Bar Service

Drumore Estate does not have a liquor license. Simply put, we can serve alcohol but not sell it. Clients must provide their own alcohol as desired. Due to insurance, we must serve any alcohol, so we provide RAMP-certified bartenders for your event. Drumore Estate also provides mixers, ice, condiments, and glassware. For your convenience, we work with licensed vendors who can provide the alcohol for your event if you choose. They will drop off the liquor the day of the event, pick up what remains, and charge you for what was used.

What is Your Capacity?

From mid-May to mid-October, Our Grand Tent can accommodate up to 400 guests. With additional tenting, we can accommodate celebrations of up to 400 guests. From April through November, our Carriage House can accommodate 150 guests for a seated dinner or 120-130 comfortably with a dance floor, and our Ballroom holds up to 80 guests. Please contact us for more details about an event in the off-season. 

 

Should I Hire an Event Planner?

When you hold an event at Drumore Estate, we provide you with our own in-house Event Facilitator who will help design, plan, and implement your dream event. Our Event Facilitator will be available to help you every step of the way leading up to your big day, and we offer an in-depth planning session where we sit down and go over all of the details to kick off the process.

In addition to event planning and design expertise, we provide vendor recommendations to assure that your event is to your specifications and is a seamless process from start to finish. Our Event Facilitator will be present for the entirety of your wedding day to take care of all of the details for you.

If you have already hired a wedding planner, we are happy to work with and assist them in realizing the perfect event for you. 

How Long is My Event?

You have exclusive use of the property for up to 12 hours for Prime Season on the day of your wedding and 10 Hours of exclusive use for off-season.

2 hours for your engagement pictures, as well as a complimentary 1-hour rehearsal. 

    What Happens If It Rains?

    Most of our couples choose to get married in our formal garden that provides a stunning view of the Susquehanna River valley. In the event of rain, your ceremony may be held in our Grand Tent, our Carriage House, or our Ballroom. We have three elegant “what if” options no matter what the weather conditions are on your wedding day.

      Will I Need Other Vendors?

      Included in our planning services are our suggestions of the highest quality vendors for any service that you require – florists, photographers, officiants, cakes & confectioners, transportation, etc. We are here to help guide you through all these important decisions. 

        Are there additional fees?

        We offer several custom options that you may choose for an additional charge (e.g. outside heaters, festoon lighting, golf cart rental, photo booth, Chiavari chairs, etc.) 

          What about parking?

          Drumore Estate provides parking attendants that direct guests to designated parking areas as they arrive. Cars may be left overnight as needed. We provide special rates with transport companies if you prefer to bus your guests to and from town. 

            How Do I Reserve My Date?

            To reserve your date at Drumore Estate, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of your total invoice (up to $6,000) is required at the time of contract signing. For example:

            If your total invoice is $10,000, your deposit will be $5,000.

            If your total invoice is $12,000 or more, your deposit will be capped at $6,000.

            The second payment (50% of the remaining balance) is due 4 months before your event, and the final payment is due 4 weeks prior to your event date.

             

            Will There Be Other Events On My Day?

            You have exclusive use of the property on your wedding day. We do not schedule any other events the day of your wedding. 

             

            Can I Have Music?

            We host a limited number of outdoor music events per year (due to local noise ordinances). Contact us as soon as possible to book these. We can easily accommodate your DJs and bands inside our climate-controlled Ballroom and Carriage House. Many of our couples choose to have dinner outside, then move inside for music & dancing. 

            Where Can We Get Ready?

            Inside our 16,000 square foot Georgian mansion. On the day of your event, you and your bridal party have access to our exquisite, fully-furnished bridal suite & groom’s lounge with attached ensuites. 

            Is Alcohol Allowed?

            Drumore Estate does not have a liquor license. Simply put, we can serve alcohol but not sell it. Clients must provide their own alcohol as desired. 

            Due to insurance, we are required to serve all alcohol. We staff all the bartenders for your event. Our bartenders are RAMP certified. Drumore Estate also provides the mixers, ice, condiments, and glassware, For your convenience, we work with licensed vendors who can provide the alcohol for your event if you choose. 

            They will drop off the liquor the day of the event, pick up what remains, and charge you for what was used.

            When can we start setup?

            The majority of venue setup is included, except for arranging flowers, special linen installs, or drape fabric. On the day of your wedding, you will have access to the venue to start setup at 9 a.m. We also allow you to drop off items up to a few days before your event. After your event, you may arrange to have a family member pick up your items the next morning if you do not want to take everything with you that night. 

            When is my rehearsal time?

            Your complementary one-hour rehearsal time will be scheduled as close to your wedding day as possible. The day and time are based upon our availability. Please be aware that your rehearsal might not be the day before your wedding.

            How We Help
            Plan Your Wedding

            All of our wedding packages include an attentive and experienced Wedding Facilitator.  Your facilitator is available from the first planning session through to the end of the event and will help you plan every detail, including the schedule, layout, menu selection, and vendor selection.

            We also provide an Event Manager at all our events with 50 guests or more.  The Event Manager is responsible for event set-up/tear-down and works with the Facilitator throughout the event to ensure it runs flawlessly so that you and your loved ones have a stress-free and unforgettable experience.
