Drumore Estate is a versatile and uncommonly beautiful venue offering both indoor and outdoor options.Ā  Boasting an 18,000 square foot historic Georgian mansion built in 1937/8 by John Frederick Steinman as his primary residence, he surrounded the mansion with manicured lawns, formal gardens, fountains, and spacious patios perfect for entertaining dignitaries, including the Eisenhowers and the Kennedys.Ā  Mature trees were transplanted on the property in 1939, and the towering sycamores lining the driveway are a hallmark of the estate today.

A 4,600 square-foot Grand Tent (400-person capacity) and Carriage House have been added to the grounds. Ā With beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces, Drumore Estate is an incredibly versatile venue where you can create your vision with just the right vibe to make your dream wedding come true. Ā All of this is exclusively yours to enjoy on your wedding day since we host only one event at a time.

Wedding Venue Features

Our Lancaster County wedding venue is secluded and pristine, yet it is only a short drive from Lancaster City and is centrally located among Harrisburg, Hershey, and York.Ā  It is within a 3-hour drive to New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. Ā The property sits on one of the highest points in the county, with unmatched views stretching across the Susquehanna River Valley.Ā  Photographers love Drumore Estate.Ā  Bucolic vistas, estate gardens, a tree-lined drive, historical architecture, wrought iron gates, and incredible sunsets create the stunning backdrop for photographers and videographers to capture your special day forever.

There are numerous amenities to provide comfort for your family and special guests. Drumore Estate has a paved, well-lit parking lot, brick pathways around the entire property, shaded seating for outside ceremonies, and climate-controlled indoor options.Ā  Ā Large, well-appointed dressing suites are available to the wedding party all day. There are plenty of guest restrooms available, including ADA equipped.

Drumore Estateā€™s Grand Tent that holds up to 400 guests.Ā  Ā There is also a climate-controlled Carriage House and an Orangery that seat 150 and 80, respectively.Ā  These spaces can be used for smaller events or provide optional uses like dancing, ceremony, or cocktail hours. They also provide great contingency back up.

Catering

The Drumore Experience offers professional, full-service, custom catering on-site. Our Event Facilitator works with you to design the perfect menu for your gathering. We include an experienced and courteous serving staff, china, glassware, flatware, tables, and chairs, not to mention set up and tear down.

Let us create the perfect menu for your event, suited to your theme, palate, and budget. We offer a flexible array of menu and catering options that include buffets, stations, sit-down dinners, & cocktail receptions. Dinners can be served buffet style or plated (less than 300 guests).

Our in-house catering service provides extensive menu options. Customization is our specialty.Ā  We are sensitive to lifestyle, diet, and food allergies. We offer specialty meal options for dietary restrictions. Please note prices may increase due to specialty ingredients.

Tastings are not included. However, we offer two group tastings with set menus annually for any couples that wish to attend. These tastings are held sometime in January or February with dates

Drumore Estate does not have a liquor license.Ā Simply put, we can serve alcohol but not sell it. Clients must provide their own alcohol as desired.Ā  Due to insurance, we are required to serve all alcohol so we provide RAMP certified bartenders for your event. Drumore Estate also provides the mixers, ice, condiments, and glassware. For your convenience, we work with licensed vendors who can provide the alcohol for your event if you choose.Ā  They will drop off the liquor the day of the event, pick up what remains, and charge you for what was used.

How We Help Plan Your Wedding

All of our wedding packages include an attentive and experienced Wedding Facilitator.Ā  Your facilitator is available from the first planning session through to the end of the event and will help you plan every detail, including the schedule, layout, menu selection, and vendor selection.

We also provide an Event Manager at all our events with 50 guests or more.Ā  The Event Manager is responsible for event set-up/tear-down and works with the Facilitator throughout the event to ensure it runs flawlessly so that you and your loved ones have a stress-free and unforgettable experience.

Should I Hire an Event Planner?

It is not necessary for you to hire an event planner for your event.Ā  Our weddings include a facilitator who will spend 4-6 hour with you to plan the details including schedule of the day, layout, menu, and vendor selection.Ā  Then, your facilitator will be present at your event to ensure the day goes smoothly, as planned.Ā  If you require help with logistics prior to or after your event, i.e., transportation, lodging for guests, next day brunchā€¦ consider hiring someone.

How Long is My Event?

Our wedding packages vary in length and are priced accordingly to accommodate every budget.

  • Elopements: 2 hours onsite
  • Mini weddings 3 to 5 hours (on-site)
  • Full Weddings 4 to 6 hours after the ceremony (you get the property for 12 hrs or 10 hrs in the off season)

How Do I Reserve My Date?

  • Elopement & Mini weddings require 25% deposit.
  • Mini weddings with food require 50% deposit with a max of $5000 and signed contract.
  • Full weddings require $5000 deposit and signed contract.

Will There Be Other Events On My Day?

Full weddings have exclusive use of the property for 12 hours (10 hours during off season).

Can I Have Music?

Yes, music is always a welcomed addition at Drumore Estate.Ā  From music during the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, we welcome all varieties of bands, DJs, acoustic, strings, etc. We do restrict loud outdoor dance party music to Saturday events (with a minimum of 130 guests) and charge a $600 outdoor music fee. Our township limits the number of events with loud outdoor music outdoors so there is an additional fee for it. Ā Music is always allowed for ceremonies, introductions, and during cocktail hour and dinner for no fee.Ā  The Orangery, which is adjacent to the tent, can be used for music and dancing and is automatically included with the Grand Tent rental.Ā  The Carriage House is a great option to add on for a dance party with various lighting and sound packages available.

What Happens If It Rains?

Drumore Estate has great contingencies for weather.Ā  Weather decisions can be made as late as possible, usually on the same day within hours of the ceremony.

Where Can We Get Ready?

We have 3 rooms available for Bridal and Groom suites. To prepare for nuptials, a beautiful bridal suite and comfortable groomā€™s lounge are provided.Ā  The bridal suite has plenty of space, large mirrors, and ensuites that make it suitable for large wedding parties. There is also access to a balcony so brides can view the grounds and watch guests as they arrive for the ceremony.Ā  The groom can gather with his groomsmen to prepare for his ā€œI doā€ in our expansive, fully furnished lounge complete with antique barber chairs, fireplace, TV and a large ensuite.Ā  Relax and be ready for your momentous wedding day.

Will I Need Other Vendors?

Clients must provide their own officiant, flowers, cake (we will cut and serve it for free), photographer/videographer, and music for the ceremony and/or reception.Ā  We have an extensive VIP list of vendors we will gladly share with you once you are booked, However, you do not have to use our suggested vendors if you already have a favorite.

Is Alcohol Allowed?

Drumore Estate does not have a liquor license.Ā Simply put, we can serve alcohol but not sell it. Clients must provide their own alcohol as desired.Ā  Due to insurance, we are required to serve all alcohol. We staff all the bartenders for your event. Our bartenders are RAMP certified. Drumore Estate also provides the mixers, ice, condiments, and glassware, For your convenience, we work with licensed vendors who can provide the alcohol for your event if you choose.Ā  They will drop off the liquor the day of the event, pick up what remains, and charge you for what was used.

Are there additional fees?

At Drumore Estate, you will still need to budget for a florist, photographer, DJ/Band, Alcohol and Dessert/Cake. For your convenience, we offer several custom options that you may choose for an additional charge, i.e., fire pit, dessert bar, late night snacks, outside heaters, additional lighting, golf cart rental, Chiavari chairs, and more to personalize your event.

When can we start setup?

You and your vendors (florists, especially) will have access to the venue at 9 a.m. Your official rental begins at 11am, with the option to add 2 additional hours in the morning, but the majority of venue setup is included.Ā  We set up the ceremony site, install linens, fold napkins, and set tables.Ā  If you have props, you may drop them off a few days prior to the wedding, and we will take care of placing them.Ā  If you are renting additional furniture or large props, you or your vendor will need to install it.Ā  We cannot be responsible for moving large, heavy props.Ā  After your event, we will pack up your things.Ā  You may take everything that night or arrange to pick up your items the next morning.

What about parking?

Drumore Estate provides parking attendants to direct guests to designated parking areas as they arrive. Cars may be left overnight as needed. Ā We work with several transportation companies is you wish to bus guests to the event.

When is my rehearsal time?

Your complementary one-hour rehearsal will be scheduled as close to your wedding day as possible. The day and time are based upon our availability. Please be aware that your rehearsal might not be the day before your wedding.
