We get a lot of questions about what to do when it rains on your wedding day. Or if it’s cold.
The great thing about Drumore Estate is we don’t require 24-hour notice for weather. We will make a game-day decision, so if your ceremony is at 4:00, we’re going to make a decision at 2:30. And we make that decision with our event manager, and we want to do what’s best for you and your guests to keep them safe and of course, dry and warm.
If it does rain and your guest count is 150 or under, we would want to move your ceremony into our orangery space. That will seat up to 180 people comfortably, but 150 is good down there. And again, we provide all of your white ceremony chairs; they’re all included. We set them up. We even have arbors that you can use just to enhance the area, and of course, we’ll bring decor down and make it very pretty in there for you.
What’s nice about Drumore is that we also offer the orangery as an indoor space, so your guests can go either outside on the romantic patio or inside into the orangery. We provide five high-top cocktail tables and have about seven pieces of tables and chairs and outdoor furniture that your guests can sit there too.
If your guest count is higher than 150, we have the tent and carriage house. We’ve done plenty of ceremonies down here inside the carriage house. It’s a beautiful, warm, inviting area. There’s a beautiful fireplace here, and these beautiful Chiavari chairs are included, and we would have your ceremony down here, and then we would move your cocktail hour up to the orangery.
If you don’t want to move your event inside, we have 10 propane heaters that work great to keep your guests warm and cozy. It works better when you have sides to close, not in an open space, more like the tent area. So if your reception is under the tent and it does get below 50 degrees in the evening, we will get those heaters.
